RECONCILIATION ACTION PLAN (RAP) GROUP
St Patrick’s was one of six parishes selected to be pilot parishes for the implementation of the Archdiocese of Brisbane RAP, Reconciliation Action Plan (2021-2022).
The process of Reconciliation involves learning, understanding and acknowledging the historical events and current practices that continue to impact the day-to-day lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is about accepting and taking responsibility for our shared history as Australians.
It is the task of the St Patrick’s RAP group to promote this process throughout the church year, in particular during National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC week, but also at other times when the need or opportunity arises, such as Australia Day, ANZAC Day and Multicultural Sunday. Our work is guided by the Archdiocesan Evangelisation Brisbane Reconciliation Plan.
Please contact the Parish Office if you want to find out more about the group.
