PARENTS INFORMATION NIGHT FOR CONFIRMATION:

Our parish is offering Sacrament of Confirmation for baptised children in Year 3 and above. Information Sessions will be held on Monday 20th and Wednesday 22nd June 2022 night at 6:30pm.  All parents and eligible children are invited to attend any one of the Information sessions. Further information on the preparation and date of Sacrament will be provided at the Information session on the night.

VOLUNTEERS FOR CHURCH CLEANING:

Our parish has been blessed with wonderful volunteers and we are grateful to each one of you.  We do not have enough volunteers to help with keeping the church clean.  So if you are able to give a an hour or so once a month and be part of a team on a Saturday morning, please write your name down on the list provided near the piety store or contact the parish office by phone: 3287 2282 or email: beenleigh@bne.catholic.net.au .  A team of four people work together each week to do the cleaning.

READERS AND COMMUNION MINISTERS AVAILABILITY:

The next roster (July to November) is in the process of being finalised.  Anyone wishing to volunteer as readers or extraordinary ministers of communion please write your name on the sheets provided near the Piety Store. Three sheets are available – please check your names on the sheet pertaining to the Mass you are available for and notify availability or changes on the sheet, thank you.  Newcomers will be trained before being rostered – please attend the training on July 17.

When: Sunday 17th of July 2022 at 10:15am (After 9am Mass) in our church.

“Ephphatha! Be opened!” is Jesus’ command that Opens the ears of the deaf man, opens his
mouth and loosens his tongue. Are we fed up of being deaf to Jesus’ sound advice, blind to the wonders of God’s creation and dumb when we must witness to the Spirit of truth? Then, let’s whisper, “Ephphatha! Be opened!” to each part of our body, and every avenue of our existence:
Be Opened, my eyes, may I see everything beautiful and The One who made it so, Ephphatha, all eyes, may we see the evil lurking behind structures and our role in it,
Be opened my ears, let the symphonies of Nature resound in the recesses of my soul,
Ephphatha, all ears, let the cries of the poor and the powerless disturb our smugness,
Be opened, my mouth, to sing psalms and poems for the wonders God works today,

Children’s Liturgy

Children’s Liturgy As a group we gather in the MacKillop Room, listen to the gospel, sing the Alleluia and discuss what it all means for us as followers of Jesus in 2015. We usually respond to the word in a number of ways- using drama, mediation, song, drawing and creating in a meaningful way. We conclude with Prayers of the Faithful, often sharing our own prayers from the heart with each other. We often receive more spiritual wisdom from the children than that from a lot of adults!!

Safeguarding Policy

Our parish has implemented the Archdiocesan Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults policy. We are committed to high standards of recruitment, screening and selection of all of our employees and volunteers and undertake intentional strategies to maintain a safe and healthy ministry environment for all.  If you are a volunteer reader, Eucharistic Minister etc. and have not received a Volunteer Data Form and the Code of Ethical Behaviour, please contact the parish office.

Young Adults Meetings

Young Adults meetings every Wednesday night (except the 2nd Wednesday of the month) in the Church from 7.30 – 8.45 (after 7pm Mass). Depending on the night, it may include prayer and praise, discussion, Scripture and Church teaching. If you’re in your late teens, twenties or thirties you will be very welcome!

 

Band Practice 1st, 2nd and 4th Tuesday nights from 7-8.30pm in the office. No practice on Anzac Day this week. Call Cathy 0400 494 943 or email youth.beenleigh@bne.catholic.net.au
